Response to Contentment of this World
During our pursuit of more for our lives, we often take for granted what is already given. Overlooking the simple things because of the different layers of abundance.
Lord God, I could not repay you; you have given me too much.
You have given me breath and milk to feed.
My feet are on solid ground, my eyes enjoy the beauty around.
Wool on my skin and arrayed by soft flowers.
My thoughts wander, my heart unsatisfied.
Tomes of wisdom and knowledge where clocks stop and the world began.
Depths that I can never imagine, and creation not known.
My gratitude is lost; it cannot be found. How can I rest knowing I owe so much to you?
