Contentment in this World
Contentment in the current situation of the world is hard; we constantly want and pursue more in our lives. This prayer is a reminder that His grace is always enough, and even when we strive more, we should never forget to give gratitude.
Why do I need to yearn for another world when I am content with this one?
Will pleasing you make things better? If I can, I would like to be selfish, my Lord.
I would like to take for myself what I need in this world.
Let me take my fill, let me take for me the splendor of your works.
Have I wronged my neighbor, or have I wronged you?
If I give up my soul in contentment, is that a sin?
Was I able to do your command, did I pursue the right path?
My eyes have learned wondrous things, and my heart is filled.
Do I need more? Do I even need to pursue your way?
