Faith and David’s Keys
Interesting find, on Jesus’ parable of the ten virgins, a connection that I hadn’t had before. Interestingly, what I know about scripture is that it is bounded by the living word that is a reflection of ourselves, and if we are within God’s grace and we are obedient to Him. Then He would continue on to work for the true meaning of scripture.
Faith is similar to Uncle Ben’s quote from Spiderman, “With great power comes great responsibility,” and isn’t that part of what faith is? Faith is the power over life and death, and with that, all the responsibility and consideration of making sure that all things come together; for faith is not a power of ourselves but of God, and with that, the responsibility of being. For we are creatures that are part of God; every morsel and every flesh is nothing apart from Him. What then is the key for and what responsibilities does it include?
Isaiah 22:22 - And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
Now isn’t this verse in Isaiah similar to the parable of the ten virgins? For His kingdom is for the faithful, for those who truly know Him and who are ready to take Him.
Matthew 24:42 - Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
We do not know when the Lord is coming, so wouldn’t you want to be on the side of the Lord when He comes? Wouldn’t we want to be saved in that regard? Salvation only comes from God and the truth of His kingdom, for His kingdom is the everlasting kingdom that covers all generations.
